Before you start

  • DO NOT USE TAP WATER IN THE BATTERY

Procedure

  1. Check tag on engine for oil viscosity and classification; drain and refill if necessary.
  2. Check battery; fill cells to proper level with distilled water.
  3. Recharge battery to 100% state of charge or replace if defective.
  4. Turn OFF all electrical loads, then start the engine.
  5. Let engine warm up.
  6. Apply electrical loads to at least 50% of rated wattage capacity.
  7. When thoroughly warmed up, shut engine down.
