Generac GT-990 — Changing the Oil Filter

Procedure

1. With oil drained, remove the old oil filter by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Apply a light coating of clean engine oil to the new filter gasket.
3. Screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket lightly contacts the adapter.
4. Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to one turn.
5. Refill with recommended oil.
6. Start the engine and check for leaks.
