Generac GT-990 — Before Initial Start-Up

Before you start

  • Never operate the engine with the oil level below the ADD mark on the dipstick.

Procedure

  1. Set the generator main circuit breaker to OFF (or OPEN).
  2. Set the AUTO/OFF/MANUAL switch to OFF.
  3. Turn OFF utility power to the transfer switch.
  4. Turn OFF all loads connected to transfer switch terminals T1 and T2.
  5. Check engine crankcase oil level and fill to the dipstick FULL mark if necessary.
  6. Check fuel supply; all fuel shutoff valves must be open.
