Generac GT-760 / GT-990 — Changing the Oil and Oil Filter

Procedure

1. Clean area around oil drain hose and plug
2. Remove oil drain plug from end of hose and oil fill plug to drain oil completely
3. Install oil drain plug and tighten securely
4. Turn old filter counterclockwise to remove
5. Coat gasket of new filter with clean engine oil
6. Turn filter clockwise until gasket contacts, then tighten additional 3/4 turn
7. Fill oil sump with recommended oil
8. Wipe up any spilled oil
