Before you start
- Never check capacitors while generator motor is running. Charged capacitors can be lethal.
Procedure
- Switch off generator.
- Disconnect starter battery.
- Open generator power terminal box and remove caps.
- Short circuit the two capacitor contacts using insulated screwdriver cone end.
- For three-phase capacitors discharge between every phase L1-L2, L2-L3, L1-L3.

- multimeter with capacitor measuring Amazon
