Before you start
- Spilled oil could result in fire. Clean up any spilled oil immediately.
- Used engine oil contains products known to cause cancer per California Proposition 65.
Procedure
- Run generator under load until normal operating temperature.
- Remove load, shut off generator, disconnect starter battery.
- Remove oil cap and the cap on the oil drain hose at the service side.
- Drain oil completely; a pump may be hooked to the hose if convenient.
- Once completely drained, replace oil drain hose cap.
- Refill engine oil to the maximum mark on the dipstick.
- Do not overfill or underfill; dispose of used oil per local regulations.
