Before you start
- Diesel fuel is a fire and explosion hazard; do not permit any open flame or igniter near the fuel system.
Procedure
- Shut down the engine.
- Close the fuel supply shutoff valve.
- Place a suitable container under the filter to be replaced.
- Use the collar/vent cap wrench to open the vent cap to break the air lock in the filter.
- Open the drain valve and allow fuel level to drain below the collar.
- Close the drain valve.
- Loosen the collar with the collar/vent cap wrench.
- Remove the clear cover, filter spring, fuel filter element, and o-ring.
- Remove the sealing grommet.
- Discard the o-ring and grommet.
