Cummins/Onan — FIGURE 10. END BEARING REMOVAL

For these Cummins/Onan models: DL4, DL6, DL6T.

Before you start

  • NOTE 1. CAPACITOR ASSEMBLY USED FOR
  • NOTE 2. L22 AND CB4 USED FOR THREE

Procedure

  1. ft. Ibs. (176 to 203 Nom).
  2. placement bolts to 70 to 80 ft. Ibs. (95 to 108
  3. Install the 8 capscrews that hold the drive disc to
  4. Using a hoist and safe lifting device, carefully
  5. On DL4and DL6sets, align the holes in thestator
  6. ft. Ibs. (52 Nom). On DL6T sets, install the end
  7. Install the control box assembly.
  8. Apply a thin film of Molykotegrease or equivalent
  9. Install end bell assembly on the stator with the
  10. Using a lead hammer, tap the end bell at the
  11. Install the upper and lower output box brackets.
  12. Plug in the control wiring harness and connect
  13. Install the overspeed switch assembly and switch
  14. Verify that all connections are secure and then
  15. Connect the negative (-) battery cable and test
  16. Visually inspect components on VR21. Look for
  17. to 10 VAC or more?
  18. to 10 VAC or more?
  19. and HI on TB2 (Figures 11 and 12). Residual volt-
  20. 37 and .037 to 0.46 ohms respectively at 77°F
