Before you start
- Do not tighten armature through stud before mounting frame and bearing support.
Procedure
- Clean and inspect all mating surfaces.
- Coat shaft/crankshaft mating area with thin oil film.
- Assemble armature through stud to crankshaft to torque.
- Install baffle ring; assemble generator through studs to adapter.
- Install bearing support; tighten frame to torque.
- Torque armature through-stud nut; tap bearing support and recheck.
- Reconnect wire leads and battery cables.
- Align the brush rig.
