Before you start
- An operating genset can ignite flammable vapors causing severe personal injury or death; NEVER start when docked for fueling.
Procedure
- Perform pre-start checks and turn off air conditioner and other large electrical loads.
- Turn on genset compartment evacuator blower at least four minutes to remove gasoline vapors.
- Push and hold genset or remote START switch until genset starts.
- Do not crank more than 10 seconds at a time; wait at least 30 seconds before retrying.
- Let genset warm up a few minutes until running smoothly before connecting electrical loads.
- Check for fuel and exhaust leaks; stop genset immediately if a leak is found and repair before continued operation.
