Cummins/Onan 4.0 MCCK / 6.5 MCCK — Sea Water Pump Impeller Check/Replace

Procedure

  1. Remove the cover of the water pump and check for pock marks on the end surfaces of the impeller.
  2. Replace the impeller if pock marks are present and seal off all air leaks.
  3. When re-installing the pump cover, coat the inside with grease.
  4. Make sure cover is installed airtight and torque the screws to 15 to 17 inch-pounds.

  • Cover screws 15 to 17 inch-pounds (1.70-1.92 N·m)
  • Pump discharges nominal 4 U.S. gallons per minute when thermostat is open
