Before you start

  • Always use the correct brush as listed in Parts Catalog 927-0224. Never substitute a brush which may appear the same.

Procedure

  1. Turn generator set off and disconnect negative (-) battery lead.
  2. Remove the end bell cover.
  3. Remove the three screws holding each brush holder in place.
  4. Remove old brushes and clean holders so new brushes can move easily.
  5. Install new brushes in the same manner as the old ones.
  6. Clean out all carbon dust from the generator.

Specs & values

  • Replace when worn to 1-1/16 inch (27 mm)
