Procedure

1. Remove end cover.
2. Lift each brush high in its guide.
3. Tag disconnected leads and mark position of parts.
4. Remove two frame stud nuts; remove brush rig and frame as a unit.
5. Loosen armature center nut just enough to avoid damaging threads.
6. While pulling outward on armature, strike nut a sharp endwise blow with heavy soft-faced hammer.
7. Remove stud nut and slide armature off through stud.
