Applies to: Caterpillar EMCP 3, Caterpillar C1.5 engine

Procedure

1. Remove the magnetic pickup from the flywheel housing.
2. Check the end of the magnetic pickup for wear and contaminants.
3. Clean metal shavings and debris from the face of the magnet.
4. Install the magnetic pickup until it contacts the flywheel ring gear tooth.
5. Loosen the magnetic pickup by 180 degrees.
6. Tighten the locknut to 25 ±5 N·m (18 ±4 lb ft).
