Procedure
- Monitor coolant temperature and check for engine overheating.
- Indicators requiring cleaning: increased coolant temperature, engine overheating, excessive pressure drop between water inlet and water outlet.
- Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Heat Exchanger - Disassemble, for maintenance and cleaning information.
- Consult your Caterpillar dealer to measure the pressure drop across the heat exchanger.
