Before you start
- Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury; do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Procedure
- Complete Label, PEEP5031, for identification of the sample.
- Provide engine model, service hours, hours since last oil change, and amount of oil added since last oil change.
- Obtain a warm, well mixed oil sample representative of the crankcase oil.
- Use clean tools and supplies to avoid contamination of the oil samples.
- Use the sampling valve; the 169-8373 Fluid Sampling Bottle is recommended.
- If not equipped with a sampling valve, use the 1U-5718 Vacuum Pump with disposable tubing inserted into the sump.
