Caterpillar C15 Industrial Engine — Engine Oil Level - Check

Before you start

  • Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury.
  • An overfull crankcase can cause engine damage.

Procedure

  1. Maintain the oil level between 'ADD' mark and 'FULL' mark on the oil level gauge. Do not fill above 'FULL' mark.
  2. Remove oil filler cap and add oil if necessary. Clean and install oil filler cap.
  3. Record the amount of oil added for the next oil sample and analysis.
