Procedure

1. Inspect the damper for evidence of fluid leaks.
2. If a fluid leak is found, determine the type of fluid. Silicone is transparent, viscous, smooth, and difficult to remove.
3. If the fluid leak is oil, inspect the crankshaft seals for leaks. Replace if observed.
4. Inspect the damper and repair or replace if dented, cracked, leaking, paint discolored from heat, engine had broken crankshaft failure, front main bearing badly worn, or large gear train wear not caus
