Before you start
- Use only Cat Extended Life Coolant (ELC) Extender with Cat ELC. Do NOT use conventional SCA with Cat ELC.
- Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.
Procedure
- Loosen the cooling system filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Remove the filler cap.
- It may be necessary to drain enough coolant from the cooling system in order to add the Cat ELC Extender.
- Add Cat ELC Extender according to the requirements for your engine's cooling system capacity.
- Clean the filler cap. Inspect gaskets. Replace cap if gaskets are damaged. Install cap.
