Procedure

1. Remove the magnetic pickup from the flywheel housing. Check the end for wear and contaminants.
2. Clean the metal shavings and other debris from the face of the magnet.
3. Install the magnetic pickup until the magnet contacts the flywheel ring gear tooth.
4. Loosen the magnetic pickup by 180 degrees. Tighten the locknut to 25 ± 5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).
