Before you start
- Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire
- Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure
Procedure
- Stop the engine; ensure engine will not start.
- Shut off the fuel supply valve to the engine.
- Connect a hose to drain; open drain valve; remove plug; allow fuel to drain.
- Gradually loosen bolts; pry cover loose to relieve spring pressure; remove cover and elements.
- Clean cover, O-ring seal and inside of fuel filter housing.
- Install new fuel filter elements.
- Inspect O-ring seal; install new seal if damaged.
- Install cover ensuring springs are seated; open fuel supply valve; prime fuel system.
Specs & values
- Replace when differential pressure gauge registers 103 kPa (15 psi) or after 1000 service hours
