Before you start

  • Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury.

Procedure

  1. Complete the identification label, PEEP5031, before taking the sample.
  2. Provide engine model, service hours, hours since last oil change, and oil added since last change.
  3. Obtain a warm, well mixed oil sample.
  4. Use the sampling valve if equipped; the 169-8373 Fluid Sampling Bottle is recommended.
  5. If no sampling valve, use the 1U-5718 Vacuum Pump with disposable tubing.
