Procedure
- Remove the carburetor and valve cover plate
- Check valve clearance with the engine cold
- Adjust valve clearance by grinding the required amount from the end of the valve stem; the end of the stem must be square with the stem proper

- Intake valve .008 inch cold
- Exhaust valve .010 inch cold
