Procedure
- Be sure fuel tank has ample supply of fresh, clean gasoline and fuel flows freely.
- Inspect and adjust idle needle valve; check that choke closes completely.
- If engine will not start, remove and inspect spark plugs.
- If plugs are wet, look for overchoking, rich mixture, water in fuel, float needle stuck open, or plugged air cleaner.
- If plug is dry, look for leaking mounting gaskets, dirty carburetor, float needle stuck shut, inoperative fuel pump, or inoperative anti-afterfire solenoid.
- Pour a small quantity of gasoline through the spark plug hole to test if fuel is reaching combustion chamber.
