Fault codes
9| Code | Name | Meaning | Severity | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HI ENG TEMP | High engine temperature shutdown | Engine has shut down because of critically high engine temperature (coolant temperature above 222°F/106°C). Fault circuit is time delayed 10 seconds following starter disconnect and inhibited during cranking. | Shutdown | Allow engine to cool; check coolant level and cooling airflow; reset control and restart. |
| LO ENG TEMP | Low engine temperature | Engine temperature is marginally low (70°F/21°C or less). Lamp normally goes out after generator set warms up. | Warning | Check coolant heater operation and coolant level. |
| LO FUEL | Low fuel | Fuel supply is marginally low. | Warning | Check fuel supply and replenish as required. |
| LO OIL PRES | Low oil pressure shutdown | Engine has shut down because of critically low oil pressure (below 14 psi/97 kPa). Fault circuit is time delayed 10 seconds following starter disconnect and inhibited during cranking. | Shutdown | Check oil level, lines and filters. Reset control and restart. |
| OVERCRANK | Overcrank shutdown | Starter has been locked out because of excessive cranking time (75 seconds). The cycle cranking option allows three 15-second cranking cycles with two 15-second rest periods. | Shutdown | Check fuel system; reset control and restart after correcting problem. |
| OVERSPEED | Overspeed shutdown | Engine has shut down because of excessive speed (60 hertz units over 2200 ± 100 r/min, 50 hertz units over 1900 ± 100 r/min). | Shutdown | Contact a Cummins Dealer for service. |
