Common problems

10
  • The module detects that the engine oil temperature has exceeded the high engine temperature pre-alarm setting level after the Safety On timer has expired. Engine High Oil Temperature
  • The module detects that the engine oil pressure has fallen below the low oil pressure pre-alarm setting level after the Safety On timer has expired. Low Oil Pressure
  • The generator output voltage has risen above the pre-set pre-alarm setting after the Safety On timer has expired. Generator Over Voltage
  • The generator output voltage has fallen below the pre-set pre-alarm setting level. Generator Under Voltage
  • The generator output frequency has risen above the pre-set pre-alarm setting Generator Over Frequency
  • The generator frequency has fallen below the pre-set pre-alarm setting after the Safety On timer has expired. Generator Under Frequency
  • The engine speed has risen above the overspeed pre-alarm setting. Overspeed
  • The engine speed has fallen below the underspeed pre-alarm setting. Underspeed
  • The DC supply has fallen below or risen above the low/high Volts setting level. Battery Under/Over Voltage
  • Fail to Stop
Cause: 'Fail to Stop' could indicate a faulty oil pressure sensor - If engine is at rest, check oil sensor wiring and configuration.

Procedures

2
Changing the Oil maintenance

⚠ Remove spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting

  1. Start engine and warm up, then stop and remove spark plug wire.
  2. Drain oil using the oil drain valve and provided neoprene hose into an approved container.
  3. Remove the oil filter and dispose of properly.
  4. Lightly lubricate new oil filter gasket with fresh, clean oil.
  5. Install oil filter by hand until gasket contacts adapter, then tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
  6. Remove dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth.
  7. Slowly pour oil into engine oil fill; do not overfill.
  8. Reinstall and tighten the dipstick.
  9. Connect spark plug wire(s) to spark plug(s).
  10. Start engine and check oil level; correct level is at top of full indicator on dipstick.
Generator Cooling System operation
  1. Three intakes provide adequate air flow even if intakes become partially obstructed
  2. Exclusive three chamber design controls air movement through the generator
  3. Heat is discharged away from intakes to prevent recirculation
  4. After engine shutdown, venting system uses convection to reduce heat soak
