Procedure
- Inspect turbine shaft operation by listening for abnormal sounds during running.
- Remove turbocharger from engine and blind oil inlet and outlet ports with gummed tape.
- Measure turbine shaft play in the axial direction using a dial indicator.
- Measure turbine shaft play in the radial direction using a dial indicator.

Specs & values
- Axial service standard 0.06 to 0.09 mm (wear limit 0.110 mm)
- Radial service standard 0.10 to 0.17 mm (wear limit 0.205 mm)
