Before you start

  • Lay a cardboard or the like on the floor and place cylinder head assembly on it so as not to damage the combustion surface
  • Follow the order of loosening the cylinder head tightening bolts shown in diagram

Procedure

  1. Remove cylinder head tightening bolt.
  2. Remove cylinder head assembly.
  3. Remove cylinder head gasket.
  4. Remove intake/exhaust valves using a valve spring compressor.
  5. Compress valve spring and remove valve cotter.
  6. Remove valve retainer and valve spring.
  7. Remove intake valve and exhaust valve.

Tools required

  • Valve spring compressor
