Before you start
- Do not wring out the foam element when squeezing it.
- The engine should never run without the foam element.
Procedure
- Remove bolts and pull outward on front cover areas.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove air filter cover and foam element.
- Wash foam element in solvent and dry it.
- Oil foam element and squeeze out excess oil; element should be wet but not dripping.
- Insert foam element into air filter case.
- Install air filter cover and tighten bolts.
- Install front cover and tighten bolts.
Specs & values
- Recommended oil: Foam-air-filter oil or SAE #20 motor oil
