For the Yamaha EF1000A, from the Yamaha owner's manual.
Before you start
- The engine and muffler will be very hot after running; avoid touching while hot.
Procedure
- Remove the muffler protector.
- Remove the plate.
- Tap the muffler lightly, then take out the loose carbon deposits from inside the muffler.
- Reinstall by reversing the removal procedure.
