Wisconsin — Idler Gear and Shaft Removal and Installation

Procedure

1. Remove 2 setscrews from tapped hole in side of crankcase with a 5/32" Allen wrench
2. Disassemble shaft and gear from case by means of the 3/8"-16 tapped puller hole in end of idler shaft
3. In reassembly: ensure oil groove in shaft is facing up
4. Drive shaft into crankcase with soft metal hammer
5. Maintain a .003 to .004 inch clearance between idler gear and shoulder of shaft
6. Lock shaft in place with the 2 Allen set screws
