Before you start
- Never start or run engine with air filter removed or damaged
Procedure
- Unsnap air cleaner cover latches and remove cover
- Remove wing nut
- Remove paper filter element and foam element from case
- Remove foam element from paper element
- Inspect both elements, replace if damaged; always replace paper element at scheduled interval
- Tap air filter to loosen debris, or use compressed air (max 30 psi) from inside to outside
- Wash foam element in detergent and water, air dry, then dip in clean engine oil and squeeze out excess
- Clean dirt from inside air cleaner body and cover, reinstall with packing, tighten wing nut
- Install and secure cover
