Before you start
- Do not allow starter grip to snap against the engine
Procedure
- Check oil level, refill as needed
- Turn on the fuel supply by moving the fuel lever to ON
- Move the choke rod to CLOSED position
- Turn the key switch to the ON position
- Pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly
- When the engine starts, open the choke gradually
- The engine should promptly come up to operating speed
