Before you start
- Do not operate engine with spark arrestor screen removed
Procedure
- Stop generator and allow to cool several minutes.
- Move generator to flat surface.
- Use flat-head screwdriver to loosen spark arrestor band clamp.
- Slide band clamp off spark arrestor screen.
- Pull spark arrestor screen out of muffler exhaust tube.
- Use wire brush to remove dirt and residue from screen.
- If screen shows signs of wear (torn, broken, large holes), replace it.
- Reinstall spark arrestor screen on muffler exhaust tube base.
- Reinstall band clamp over screen and tighten with screwdriver.
