Before you start
- Dispose of the used battery according to local/state guidelines.
Procedure
- Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
- Loosen and remove the nuts on the battery hold-down plate and remove the plate.
- Tip the battery forward slightly to access battery cables.
- Disconnect the black negative (-) battery cable first.
- Disconnect the red positive (+) battery cable second and remove the battery.
- Install the new battery into the generator frame.
- Connect the red positive (+) battery cable first.
- Connect the black negative (-) battery cable second.
- Install the battery hold-down plate using the nuts removed earlier.
- Install the spark plug wire onto the spark plug.
