Procedure

1. Mount the water heater in a convenient location either high or low in relation to the engine.
2. Run connecting hoses from the heater to the engine in a reasonably direct line without loops that trap air.
3. Hoses should rise continuously from their low point at the heater to the engine.
4. If any portion of the heating circuit rises above the engine's pressure cap, install remote expansion tank Kit #024177 as the highest point.
5. Tee the remote expansion tank into the heater circuit, choosing the higher of the two connections for the return.
6. If trapped air can rise to the heater, install an air bleed petcock at the higher fitting on the heater.
