Westerbeke 90A FOUR — Changing the Fuel Filter

For the Westerbeke 90A FOUR, from the Westerbeke operator's manual.
Before you start
- Shut off the fuel valve at the tank when servicing the fuel system. No smoking, open flames or other sources of fire near the fuel system.
Procedure
- Shut off the fuel supply.
- Open the bleed screw on the top of the filter.
- Place a container under the fuel filter and open the drain on the bottom of the bowl and drain the fuel.
- Close the drain and unscrew the bolt that secures the bowl.
- Clean the base and install a new sealing ring squarely in the base recess.
- Replace the upper sealing ring and the O-ring in the filter head.
- Install the new filter element and re-install the retaining bolt.
- Apply fuel to the seal rings and O-ring before installing.
- Bleed the air from the filter assembly.
