Westerbeke 90A FOUR — Bleeding (Priming) the Fuel System

For the Westerbeke 90A FOUR, from the Westerbeke operator's manual.
Procedure
- Open the bleed screw on top of the fuel filter.
- Unscrew the knob on the fuel feed pump; slowly work the priming pump until fuel free of air bubbles flows.
- Close the bleed screw.
- Disconnect the fuel line return hose, place towels under it, and pump until clear fuel free of air discharges.
- Reconnect the return line, work the pump a few more strokes, then push the cylinder in and secure it.
- Start the engine and check/correct any leaks.
- If unstable running occurs, loosen the high pressure line nuts at the injectors one at a time to expel air, then retighten.
