Before you start
- The oil will be hot and dispenses quickly; wear gloves and safety glasses.
Procedure
- Locate oil sample valve and remove protective cap.
- With engine running at operating temperature, press valve to purge debris.
- Dispense sample into a clean, unused oil sample bottle.
- Record engine serial number, total run hours and hours since last oil change.
- Reinstall the dust cap on the sample valve.
