Before you start
- Valve stem gland cannot be used repeatedly after removal.
Procedure
- Loosen and remove the eyebolts on both ends of the engine.
- Loosen the cylinder head bolt and nut, remove the clamping block.
- Loosen the cylinder head main bolt, remove it and place it in order.
- Remove the ignition coil bushing mounting plate bolts, bushing and O-ring.
- Remove the cylinder head; mark cylinder numbers if removing more than one.
- Remove the cylinder head gasket.
- Remove rocker seat and intake/exhaust valve assemblies.
- Remove the valve stem gland using a special tool.
