Before you start
- Disconnect negative battery cable before service
- Dispose of drained oil in accordance with environmental regulations
Procedure
- Run engine briefly to warm oil; shut down and disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove oil drain valve dust cap; attach collection hose and drain oil.
- Close valve, remove hose, reinstall dust cap; dispose of oil properly.
- Remove old oil filters; ensure old gasket not stuck.
- Apply thin oil layer to new filter gasket.
- Tighten each oil filter 1/2 turn past hand tighten.
- Add engine oil up to 120 quarts until high mark; reinstall filler cap.
- Start engine at idle; inspect for leaks; shut down and recheck oil level after 5 minutes.
