Before you start
- Change oil when engine is warm
- Always change oil filter when changing oil
Procedure
- Start engine and run until normal operating temperature
- Stop engine
- Remove drain plug and allow oil to drain
- Remove and discard oil filter and sealing ring
- Coat new filter sealing ring with clean engine oil
- Tighten filter securely (follow filter manufacturer instructions), do not over tighten
- Check drain plug sealing ring, replace if necessary, wipe plug and pan sealing surface, reinstall drain plug
- Fill crankcase with oil
- Start engine and check for oil leaks
- Stop engine and check oil level is at FULL
- Dispose of oil and filter safely
