Before you start

  • Failure to run the engine off load for 3 to 5 minutes before stopping may damage the engine.
  • If the engine is stopped by the air shut off valves, the cause must be checked immediately.

Procedure

  1. Allow the engine to run for 3 to 5 minutes with no load to remove heat from the turbochargers, bearings and seals.
  2. Turn the start key to position (A1) to stop the engine automatically.
  3. Alternatively, hold the stop control lever in the stop position (B) until the engine is stopped.
