Perkins — Fuel System Primary Filter - Replace

Before you start
- Do not fill the bowl with fuel before the assembly is installed.
- The water separator is under suction; ensure the drain valve is tightened securely.
Procedure
- Turn the fuel supply valve to the OFF position.
- Place a suitable container under the water separator.
- Remove the filter bowl from the fuel filter base.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove and discard the filter element from the fuel filter base.
- Clean the filter bowl.
- Install a new filter element to the fuel filter base.
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
- Install the filter bowl to the fuel filter base and tighten by hand.
- Replace the secondary fuel filter at the same time as the primary fuel filter.
