Perkins — Fuel Manifold Installation

Before you start

  • Do not install a fuel manifold that has not been plugged
  • All plugs and caps must be left in place until fuel injection lines are about to be installed

Procedure

  1. Ensure all ports on fuel manifold are capped
  2. Ensure fuel manifold is externally clean and free from damage
  3. If necessary, position hose clamp onto plastic tube assembly
  4. Install new seal into plastic tube assembly
  5. Install plastic tube assembly to fuel manifold
  6. Tighten hose clamp securely
  7. Position fuel manifold onto valve mechanism cover
  8. Install bolts to fuel manifold finger tight
  9. Install new fuel injection lines finger tight
  10. Tighten bolts to 27 N·m
  11. Tighten nuts for fuel injection lines to specified torque
  12. Remove plugs and install plastic tube assemblies to connections

Specs & torque values

  • Bolt torque: 27 N·m (239 lb in)
