Before you start
- Discard the used canister and fuel oil in a safe place and in accordance with local regulations.
- Only genuine Perkins parts must be used. The use of a non-genuine canister may damage the fuel system and void warranty.
Procedure
- Thoroughly clean the filter head (A1) and the canister (A3).
- Put a suitable container under the fuel filter assembly.
- Use a suitable strap wrench (A2) to remove the canister. Discard the canister.
- Lubricate the top of the new canister seal with clean fuel oil.
- Fit the new fuel filter canister and tighten it by hand only.
- Prime the fuel system.
- Remove the container.
- Run the engine and check for leaks.
