Procedure

  1. 4. Loosen the locking screw (6). Move the spacer
  2. (5) in order to allow the locking screw (6) to
  3. tighten against the shaft of the fuel injection
  4. pump. Rotate the fuel injection pump gear in a
  5. counterclockwise direction in order to remove
  6. the backlash. Tighten the locking screw (6) to a
  7. torque of 31 N·m (23 lb ft).
  8. Note: The locking screw (6) must be tightened in
  9. order to prevent the shaft of the fuel injection pump
  10. from rotating. The shaft of the fuel injection pump
  11. must not be rotated after the fuel injection pump
  12. has been removed from the engine.

  • 6. Use a suitable puller in order to remove the fuel
