Before you start
- Never run the engine without an air cleaner element installed.
- Never service the air cleaner element with the engine running.
Procedure
- Ensure the outer body of the air cleaner is clean and free from dirt.
- Inspect the top cover; remove and clean if necessary and reinstall.
- Remove the end cover from the air cleaner body; clean it and check the vacuum valve.
- Remove the primary air filter element (and secondary element if equipped) and discard.
- Install the new secondary element (if equipped) and the new primary element.
- Install the end cover to the air cleaner body and secure; reset the air service indicator if necessary.
