Before you start

  • Note: The spacer (6) must be correctly positioned
  • Note: Ensure that the mating surfaces of the fuel

Procedure

  1. 2. Install the new O-ring (10) onto the fuel injection
  2. pump. Position the fuel injection pump onto the
  3. front housing. Install the setscrews (13). Tighten
  4. the setscrews (13) to a torque of 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
  5. 3. Install the setscrew (15) and the bracket (11)
  6. onto the cylinder block if the bracket was
  7. previously removed. Ensure that the bracket (11)
  8. supports the fuel injection pump without applying
  9. any other external force on the fuel injection
  10. pump. Tighten the setscrew (15) to a torque of
  11. 44 N·m (32 lb ft).
  12. 4. Install the bolt (12) and the nut (14).

  16. Note: Ensure that the mating surfaces of the fuel
  17. injection pump gear and the shaft of the fuel
  18. injection pump are clean. Lubricate the threads of
  19. the shaft for the fuel injection pump. The nut (8)
  20. must turn freely until contact is made with the fuel
