Procedure

  1. Drain the lubricating oil and remove the lubricating oil sump.

  5. Assemble bearing, threaded rod, handle and adaptor PD.150B-17/1 against the bottom of the liner.
  6. Lubricate the ratchet and threaded rod with Shell Spirax oil; operate the handle and pull the liner out.
  7. For a service liner: clean the parent bore and the top 50 mm (2.0 in) with Loctite Safety Solvent.
  8. Lubricate the parent bore lightly with clean engine oil except for the top 50 mm (2.0 in).
  9. Engage the liner vertically and press in with tool PD.150B to within 50 mm (2.0 in) of the fitted position.
  10. Apply Loctite 602 to the top 25 mm (1.0 in) of the liner and under the flange and to the flange recess.
  11. Press the liner to the fully fitted position and clean off excess Loctite.
  12. Check the liner flange is between 0,10 mm above and 0,10 mm below the top face of the block.
